This late "problem" comedy is the story of Helena, who falls in love with the noble Count Rossillion. She must earn her marriage to him and then gain his loyalty to herself by a series of difficult and arduous tasks. Half fairy tale and half folk tale, this unconventional play has intrigued scholars and theatre artists for centuries. Is the Count worth the ordeals Helena must endure to secure her marriage to him? Why does she do it? Is she a resourceful, determined heroine or a ruthless schemer?
You may contact us now if you are interested in being a part of this production. We will cast nine men (some multiple casting) and five women. Maria Graham will costume the show with a Gothic motif. "All's Well That Ends Well" will be performed the first two weekends of December at the Randall Museum and at the Eureka Valley Recreation Center, closing December 14. Rehearsals begin on September 22.
Auditions for SFFCT's 2008-09 Season IX will be Monday-Wednesday September 8-10 at West Portal Playground. Please prepare a contemporary monologue and also bring a Shakespeare monologue if you want to audition for "All's Well That Ends Well." On Thursday and Friday September 11-12 we will hold callbacks for "All's Well That Ends Well." If we are able to cast all three plays from the pool of auditioners we will hold no more auditions this season.
West Portal Playground is literally on top of the West Portal Muni Station. It is at 121 Lenox Way just up the hill from West Portal Library and just downhill from West Portal School.
