THE VISIT
A play by Friedrich Durrenmatt
Directed by Glenn Havlan
The depressed, grimy little town
of Guellen in Central Europe receives a visit from the wealthiest woman in the world, who grew up there. She
offers the town $1billion dollars if they kill one of their leading citizens, a shopkeeper who wronged
and shamed her decades before. At first the townspeople refuse, but soon they start buying things
on credit - even from the shopkeeper himself. What else can they do?
A comedy with a grim plot. Our 20th production. A cast of twenty-seven, ranging in age from 11 to 70. Many
actors from last season's shows, "The Two Gentlemen of Sonoma," "Judgment at Nuremberg," and "Dead Happy."
